Birth Photography

Birth photography is more than just a service I offer

It is a calling

As a mother of two boys, I have experienced firsthand the anticipation, vulnerability, excitement, and overwhelming emotion that surround the arrival of a baby. Those experiences deepened my appreciation for birth and the incredible journey that parents undertake to bring their children into the world.

While my own births were natural deliveries, what inspires me most is not how a baby arrives, but the story itself. Every birth is unique. Some unfold exactly as planned, while others take unexpected turns.

Birth is completely life-changing

That is what I am passionate about documenting.

It is where strength and vulnerability exist side by side. It is where partners become parents, siblings meet one another for the first time, and families begin a new chapter together.

My approach to birth photography is rooted in respect and observation. I am there to quietly document your story as it naturally unfolds, preserving the emotions, relationships, and details that may blur together in the intensity of the day.

The wonder of meeting your baby for the very first time

The first cry. The tears of relief.

The wonder of meeting your baby for the very first time

One of the things I love most about birth photography is the opportunity to show mothers what everyone else sees: their courage, resilience, and strength. In the midst of labour, surgery, decision-making, and the intensity of bringing a child into the world, many mothers are simply focused on getting through the moment. Through photographs, they are able to look back and see themselves as their loved ones saw them: powerful, determined, and deeply connected to the people around them.

For me, birth photography is about preserving the very beginning of a story.

Not just the moment a baby is born, but the journey, the emotions, and the love that surround their arrival.

It is an honour to witness these moments, to be the first to capture an image of a new life, and an even greater privilege to preserve them for generations to come.

I am proud to be a member of the South African Birth Photographers Association (SABPA)

The South African Birth Photographers Association (SABPA) is organisation dedicated to supporting professional birth photographers through education, ethical standards, and ongoing development.

My membership reflects my commitment to serving families with professionalism, sensitivity, and respect during one of the most intimate and important days of their lives.

Whether your baby is born in a hospital, birthing centre, or at home, my goal is to create a timeless visual record of your baby's arrival and the remarkable story that brought them here.

My approach to birth photography is rooted in respect and observation. I am not there to direct or interfere. Instead, I quietly document your story as it naturally unfolds, preserving the emotions, relationships, and details that might otherwise fade with time.
