I'm Kayla, and I photograph life.

Life as it happens


I grew up in a 'Photographer' family, and this meant that all life's special moments were documented, but so were the ordinary ones.


My sister and I on our swing set, playing with our toys on the lounge floor, or doing homework at the kitchen table. These were photos showing life as we lived it, and as we remember it.


I remember so many cozy afternoons spent paging through photo albums of seaside holidays and family get togethers around the braai. Life's brief moments collected and cherished in albums and those old Foto-first envelopes.


It's with this background that I came to love photography, especially photos of families and children just being themselves. I believe that every moment is worth treasuring, even those everyday ones. It is through these photographs that we watch our families grow and transform.


We can see how much things change, but also how what is truly important stays the same: Our Love, Joy, Togetherness.


Memories in physical form


In this digital age, it's so easy to get caught up in the instant gratification of a social media post. And as nice as it is to get a gallery full of digital images, how much better to have a wall full of memories?


That's why when I started this journey, I decided that everyone needed photographs they could feel and touch. Photos to frame and hang on the wall, to remind us everyday of who we are and who we love. Photos that could be passed down and cherished, a true legacy of a life well lived.


So, with every package I include 10 to 15 of your favourite images, printed and delivered to you. Taking your life off the screen and into your hands and hearts.


Quick Facts About Me

I'm a wife and mother

Married in 2018 to the love of my life and my best friend, who became the most amazing father to our two boys. Everything I do is for them.

I was born and raised in the bush

My absolute favourite place is in the bush with my family and a camera. Wildlife photography is a true passion and what kickstarted my photography journey.

I love a good book and a cup of coffee

I'm a big fan of murder mystery and historical fiction. But I'm also up for a movie marathon and popcorn any day! Superheroes, RomComs or period dramas, I'm there.

I'm a dog person

But I can't resist some cat snuggles! I have two energetic Bull Terriers (ie they are a little crazy) and I can't imagine life without them.

I love to cook

I cook with heart, meaning I pretty much wing it and hope for the best! Sitting down to a good meal with my family is always the highlight of my day. But my baking could use some work!

I'm an accountant by trade

And a photographer by passion. I am in love with capturing love and families, and I infuse that love into every image I create. But I can do your taxes too!
